Massage has been part of my life since I was little. I remember my first ever client, my granddad pretending to get great relief from his shoulder pain following the treatment I gave him as a four year old…he is probably responsible for me being in the profession now.
After two BA (Hons) degrees in Modern Foreign languages, and a few years of teaching, I decided it was time to train in massage therapy. This was 13 years ago now. Throughout this time I have continued (and continue) to learn and develop my skills so I can help as many people as possible to reduce discomfort and restore functionality in their body.
I believe that therapy is the facilitation of the body’s innate capacity to heal. The therapist’s guidance and attention support this process, but an important part of this journey is to learn and refine our perception of our internal bodily experience - the client’s active involvement is a crucial part of the treatment process.
